Make friends with them, give them advice if they do not know as much, and be a supportive community. Respect someone if they’re F2P, because you don’t know the circumstances as to why they’re not spending money in game. If you’re a P2P: Don’t harass the newer players and help them grow. The ideal situation is everyone gets along nicely and fairly but this isn’t the case and basically this is the way to approach it. This kind of behavior is bad sportsmanship and really not acceptable but it continues on and will continue for…a long long time. they’re dicks and they want to feel secure in what little skill they have, etc.

SIDENOTE: Players that bought the game before Jwhen the game went free to play own a “Proof of Purchase” which is a hat in game that looks specifically like this, (I myself am a post 2011 Pay to Play tf2 maniac who tries to pretend they’re worth more than a 17 key unusual but really I’m not even worth that much) For example this means, buying anything from the Mann Co store so a hat or a Mann Up pass. Initially you might think that f2p and p2p just refers to the dates and when people had started playing tf2 and to some degree if kind of does but p2p also refers to any player now that has spent money in the game. So that meant TF2 could be played by anyone who had steam and downloaded the game. This changed 4 years later in 2011 when the game went “Free to Play”. (Similar to most every game now, or for example Overwatch).
